ABOUT THE PLACE

Kasar Devi is amongst the most beautiful weekend getaways from Delhi and nearby places. It is located at an altitude of 6000 feet (approx.) above sea level.

Kasar Devi, got its name from the famous KASAR DEVI Temple - This temple has enormous geomagnetic field as it is positioned on the Van Allen Belt. The other two geomagnetic places on planet endowed with similar cosmic energy are Machu Picchu in Peru and Stone Henge in England.

PLACES TO VISIT

Lagoon Hike

A lagoon is a body of water separated from larger bodies of water by a natural barrier. It’s a small 30-40 minutes hike from our homestay. Upon reaching the lagoon you will witness a waterfall at the origin and crystal clear water body at the bottom.

Cranks Ridge:

Crank's Ridge, sometimes called Hippie Hill, is a pine-covered ridge located on the way to Kasar Devi temple. The place, got its popular name, Crank's Ridge, ever since Timothy Leary streaked on the ridge in the 1960s, when it became part of the Hippie trail, during the peak of hippie movement. It is around 2 Kms from our homestay

Kasar Devi Temple

Kasar Devi Temple is a famous 2nd-century Hindu shrine which sits high at an altitude of 2,116 metres above sea level. In 1890’s Swami Vivekananda came to this temple for Meditation. This temple has enormous geomagnetic field as it’s positioned on the Van Allen Belt. It is around 2 kms from our homestay.

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is an Indian wildlife sanctuary situated around 8 kms from our homestay. Binsar was the summer capital of the Chand Kings, who ruled over Kumaon from the 11th to 18th centuries AD. Binsar was established in 1988 for the conservation and protection of the shrinking broad leaf oak (Quercus) forests of the Central Himalayan region, and it has over 200 bird species.

Nanda Devi Temple

In the tranquil vistas of Kumaon, lies a sacred temple of Nanda Devi, an incarnation of the Hindu Goddess Durga. This holy shrine is located in the heart of Almora city. Many Hindu pilgrims religiously visit this temple as Nanda Devi is considered to be the "Destroyer of Evil" and the saviour of the denizens of Kumaon as well as other regions of Uttarakhand. It’s located approx 8.5 kms from the homestay.

Chitai Golu Devta Temple

The famous Temple of Chitai Almora is the Golu Devta Chitai temple, dedicated to Gollu or Goljyu Devta an Avtar (incarnation) of Lord Shiva in the form of Gaur Bhairav. Although there are many temples of Golu Devta in Almora but the Chitai Golu Devta Temple is the most sacred one. It’s around 11 kms away from the property.

Katarmal Surya Temple

The Katarmal Surya Temple is a 9th-century temple built by Katarmalla, a Katyuri King, exhibiting the architectural style of the ancient artisans. This Hindu temple is perched at an elevation of 2,116 meters above sea level and is situated at a distance of approximately 23 kms from the homestay

Dhokaney Waterfall

Dhokaney waterfall is a hidden treasure of Kumaon situated approx 29 kms from our property. Dhokaney Water Fall is a stunning waterfall hidden in the midst of the pine trees, is a local secret of the Kumaon region. Most of the tourists don’t know about it. Maybe this is the main reason why this place is less crowded.

Jageshwar Dham

Jageshwar Temples, also referred to as Jageswar Temples or Jageshwar Valley Temples, are a group of 125 ancient Hindu temples dated between 7th and 14th century near Almora, in the Himalayan Indian state of Uttarakhand. The valley has a number of temple clusters such as the Dandeshwar and Jageshwar sites. It is about 38 kms from our homestay.

Kainchi Dham

Kainchi Dham is a Hanuman temple & Ashram which is established by a great saint Shri Neem Karoli Baba in 1960s. It's a holy temple surrounded by hills and trees and river flowing besides it.

You can feel the great strengths and presence of Hanuman Ji in the Ashram. This place has achieved recognition owing to the ashram of the famous Neem Karoli Baba. The scenic location adds to the beauty of the place. Many big names like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Virat Kohli have visited the place. It is about 48 kms from our homestay.
